Electric’s Even Better With Evo

MAINTENANCE

Electric propulsion takes the next evolutionary step — hydrogeneration — in which the battery recharges while you cruise.

Electric outboard manufacturer ePropulsion has announced a new Evo line of outboard and pod drive motors for 2021, and they have one unmatched benefit — hydrogeneration. Evo outboard and pods left in neutral while sailing or while being towed on a tender will recharge the batteries when moving at speeds between four and 10 knots. That gives their 48-volt system virtually endless ability, and sailors can completely eliminate the need to fuel up — virtually forever.

There are other advancements in the Evos as well: these models have lighted LED displays (older models have LEDs but they aren’t lighted for night use), and traditional lanyard cutoff switches have been upgraded with wristband-style cutoffs.

Seven Evo models are available, including 3-, 6-, and 9.9-horsepower tiller-steer outboards plus a remote control version, and 3-, 6-, and 9.9-horsepower pod drives. Visit epropulsion.com to learn more.
